12 JanMr. dicator head’ by melbourne-based artist Stephen Ives is a series of sculptures that depicts various dictator figures as the popular children’s toy, mr. potato head. characterized by multiple removable parts, the collection includes well-known political characters such as stalin, saddam hussein, and kim jong il. achieving striking resemblance through eyebrows, hair formation, and, in some cases, the character-defining mustache, the plastic figurines juxtapose the dictators with an accessible and endearing model form.







Honest Logos

Viktor Hertz is a swedish graphic designer whose ‘honest logos’ project, really tells it like it is. the idea behind the re-appropriated graphics, are hertz’s means of revealing the actual content and truth behind the company at hand and its products. as of recent, the designer has developed ten new logos to add to the first series he created. in the wake of ‘revealing the truth’, the new logos also give us a chance to reflect on our own personal habits of consumption.

This series of work is haunting, simultaneously sexy and morbid. The sensual textures of fur and feathers are juxtaposed with pale animal skulls and soft female curves to illustrate the malicious blackness gnawing away at the edges of our sense of beauty.
