Oleg Dou: CUBS

28 Sep

“A modern interpretation of an old practice, ‘cubs’ by moscow-based photographer Oleg Dou is a series of images that draw from the aesthetic and ambience of child funeral portraits. Utilizing a muted palette with a stark backdrop, the porcelain-like subjects are morphed to display discerning features of various animals, such as a set of slender antlers for ‘fawn’ and perked-up ears in ‘rabbit’. The result is a whimsical collection of portraits that play into the innocent adolescence of the characters while still maintaining an eery sense of death and mortality”.

Carl Warner: Food photographer

The ‘Foodscapes’ are created in Carl’s London studio where they are built on top of a large purpose built triangular table top. The scenes are photographed in layers from foreground to background and sky as the process is very time consuming and so the food quickly wilts under the lights. Each element is then put together in post production to achieve the final image.

LINK Presents: Pan-Pots Podcast

Ladies and gentlemen we are proud to present our 9th podcast with or good freinds Pan – Pot. Pan-Pot may have taken their name from an unexceptional element of studio equipment, but as with their music, they have rewritten notions of form and function through their own idiosyncratic language; once you’ve experienced Pan-Pot’s colossal, haunting soundscapes you will never forget them. Their vision, passion, and love of music continues to drive Pan-Pot — and the extended mobilee team —in all that they continue to do, and all that will come.
