Featuring Cohen’s iconic style mavens in an exclusive short by filmmaker Lina Plioplyte. “Hearing them speak about clothing is so fascinating,” says Cohen, who launched his site in 2008 and also has a documentary in the works. “There is history and memories in what they are wearing and I think it’s important to show that storytelling aspect, as well as their vitality and creativity.”

Captain America Full-Length Trailer

The latest superhero film to emerge out of the Marvel franchise will be the story of Captain America. Set during World War 2, the story presents the background into how a skinny and ultimately unwanted soldier by the name of Steve Rogers would undergo a radical experiment to help in America’s battle against the Nazis. The film will release in both 2D and 3D formats on July 22.

Filmmaker Terje Sorgjerd spent an entire week capturing one of the biggest Aurora Borealis in recent times. Shot in and around Kirkenes and Pas National Park bordering Russia, the captivating showcase was filmed during temperatures around -25 Celsius which surely made for a chilly experience but a beautiful one nonetheless. Enjoy!

BBC4’S REGGAE BRITANNIA DOCUMENTARY LIBERATED

This documentary on the origins, growth and influence of British reggae from the ‘60s to the present. Reggae Britannia takes you from the scene’s ska beginnings in the hands of the children of the country’s first post-war wave of Carribean immigrants (known as the Windrush generation), through to the emergence of  Bob Marley, the first Brixton riots, the UK sound system phenomenon, the Two-Tone era, reggae’s merging with punk and appropriation by pop, and more. Reggae Britannia is definitely worth a look.

The Swedish fashion designer looked to De Thurah, whose surreal music videos for the likes of Fever Ray and James Blake he cites as an ongoing source of inspiration, to channel the brand’s downtown conceit: “I wanted the film to embody all of the qualities that I love about New York—its depth and nerve, its capacity to be a bit anarchistic, yet still human and inspiring.” Embracing a post-apocalyptic, spectral mood, the Danish director’s short outfits actors Iva Gocheva, Bogdan Kwiatkowski and Kate Lyn Sheil in lambskin motorcycle leather jackets, merino wool cardigans and sulfur-dyed denim for a tale that swings from indie intellectualism to dark fantasy.
